LEGAL TRANSCRIPTION:  CET PREP +  DEPOSITION  

 

This package is ideal for students who wish to learn legal transcription, pass the AAERT CET exam, and transcribe depositions and other non-federal proceedings.

This package contains two separate courses. For more information about each course within this package, please review their course descriptions linked here. 

Legal Transcription (CET Prep): The Legal Transcription (CET Prep) course alone does not prepare students for non-federal formatting required by many employers. 

Deposition Transcript Fundamentals: For those preparing for the CET, the formatting taught in the Deposition Transcript Fundamentals course will not be helpful for the CET exam, but it will be incredibly helpful to have those skills when looking for work.

 

Equipment Requirements: 

  • Any transcription audio player. If you do not have one, we recommend the free version of Express Scribe software. 
  • A foot pedal (e.g., Infinity) compatible with your audio player and transcription headphones.
  • MS Word (Microsoft Word 2016, 2019, and Office 365), CAT software, or any other word processor. (We only offer support for MS Word.)
  • PC-based computer with Windows 8.1 or better. (Most software companies in this industry are PC-friendly. You can use a Mac in this course, but we do not offer support for Mac-specific questions.)
