Students learn important legal and industry terminology. Additionally, students will learn to work within customer-driven specifications such as a style guide and a template. 

This course is perfect for experienced transcriptionists looking to transition to legal transcription or students who have already taken other transcription courses. (This course does not include training in English, grammar, and punctuation.)

Equipment Requirements: 

• Microsoft Word
• Any transcription audio player. If you do not have one, we recommend the free version of Express Scribe software. 

Equipment Suggestions: A foot pedal (e.g., Infinity) compatible with your audio player and transcription headphones.

Suggested Pre-Requisites: This course is intended for students who have experience working as a legal transcriptionist or who have already taken the following courses: Transcription English, Grammar, and Punctuation & Transcription Basics OR Legal Transcription (CET Prep)

 

Course Access: 180 days 

 

• AAERT credits are calculated as 1.0 CEUs (10 hours).
• This course provides 0.75 total credits toward your NCRA continuing education requirements. Exact Breakdown: NCRA Credits are .25 CEUs + .50 PDCs: Please note, you can only submit up to 1.0 PDC per 3-year cycle. NCRA CE Program Rules
